Release Date
May 1, 1992
Recorded at Sumet-Bernet Studios, Dallas, Texas, January/February 1992
Produced and arranged by Larry Seyer and the Dixie Chicks
For this album, the Chicks added a drummer, Tom Van Schaik. Bandmember Robin Macy was not in
favor of this but went along with it as she was out-voted. It was suggested by producer Larry Seyer that Lloyd Maines be brought
in to play steel guitar on a few songs. The Chicks manager at that time, David Skepner shopped the CD to Nashville label executives
but no one was interested in it so the Chicks released it themselves. Shortly after the release, Robin decided to leave the
band. Little Ol' Cowgirl achieved sales of 48,000.
