Landslide
BOB GUERRA: The girls once told me that when they make an album the music comes from where they are in their lives at
the time. NMN asked them where they were when they made 'Home'.
NATALIE: We were home. (laughter) We were home in Austin and Emily actually lives a couple of hours away but we're all
still in Texas and we're definitely very settled and at home with ourselves as well. Just feeling like we wanted to make music
and not necessarily knowing what it was for. We were just ready after some time off and some rejuvenation to get back in and
make some music together so that's what 'Home' came from.
Travelin' Soldier
BOB GUERRA: Dixie chick Emily robison's brother-in-law Bruce wrote Travelin' Soldier. NMN asked her if she had any background
on why he wrote this Vietnam era song.
EMILY: I don't really know the inspiration personally behind why he wrote the song but we've all been Bruce Robison fans.
He writes from such a personal place and I think this is one of the songs that wasn't personal for him. He wrote a story song
that -- I don't know -- everytime I hear it I love the harmonies. I love the storytelling of it. I love how he paints a picture
and this one was one we probably heard two years ago and just kinda kept in our back pocket and knew we wanted to do it. It
just didn't really make a lot of sense on the 'Fly' album so when we decided to do an acoustic album it was just kind of at
the top of our list.
